Reach the Core Activities

My Year 3's totally enjoyed the Stone Age Day and it brought the learning that they had done 'alive'. I liked the way you began the session with looking at the facts that the children had learnt and talking about Life in the Stone Age and the fact that it wasn't easy!   The workshop was praised in my staff meeting as Ofsted guidelines say that students should have lots of hands on experiences to enhance the learning of topics within the curriculum.  Everybody joined in all the activities and it was at the child's particular level that they accessed it.

I like that the range of some tasks were open-ended and it gave children opportunities to work together.    Also we really enjoyed building Stonehenge as it was the ability to work as a team (so important) and it gave children the knowledge that Stonehenge was built over a number of years as technology is not like it is now!  Also I could refer back to it, 'do you remember when' .... which is invaluable when going back to life in the Stone Age and compare it to life in the Bronze and Iron Ages too.

On behalf of all at Arundel Castle can I pass on our thanks and appreciation for your support, hard work and participation in the History Day at the castle.  The addition of have-a-go Artillery etc and craft tent was a great addition to the event, and certainly added to the visitor experience, especially the younger children.  The very good weather certainly drew out the visitors, and the feedback and comments were all positive at what people saw and did over the day. Certainly one of the most successful days we have had, great team effort by all.

The Trebuchet Kits are fantastic....I LOVE them! Thank you so much for making them and bringing them down. The Castle Manager came to see them after you'd left and says that I can
order 3 more, which speaks volumes.

Thanks for being part of our Ball experience, you were a definite hit (pun intended!) and people said it was good novelty thing that they hadn’t seen at a Ball before. Some had done archery before but the medieval artillery was a new and interesting and fun thing to try.  It was an absolute pleasure dealing with you and your team were very professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you in future.

I’m still receiving so much positive feedback from everyone who attended including my Commanding Officer and your range of activities seems to have stolen the show!!!!  I’d personally like to thank you and your staff for your professionalism and perseverance especially when the heavens opened.   Rest assured I have passed all your details around the companies and will be sending all future mess committees in your direction.

I wanted to thank you and James for a fantastic weekend.  It was great to have you with us and you really added massively to the event. I am extremely grateful to you both for working like Trojans throughout the day and for the enjoyment and education that you gave our visitors.

I was enormously impressed with everything you did and I have had numerous people contact me in really glowing terms about the day and you were a major element so thank you very much indeed. Patrick (the grown-up) was also very impressed and has asked that I pass on his thanks.

We booked both Reach the Core and Up an' at 'Em History for our Medieval Curriculum day in January for our Year 4's.

It absolutely blew us away...they were keen, professional and exciting and the children just loved them.  We had no idea we could have Archery in our school hall but it was just fantastic.  Really good value for money and we'll definitely be booking again!
